Officials Identify SoCal Edison Worker Electrocuted In Paramount

PARAMOUNT (CBSLA.com) — A Southern California Edison worker who was killed while working to restore electricity in Paramount has been identified, officials said Thursday.

According to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, Jeffrey Moon, 26, of Los Angeles, has been identified as the victim.

The incident unfolded around 5 p.m. on Wednesday located at the corner of Jefferson Street and California Avenue.

Residents reported watching Moon climb to the top of a power pole, slip and fall onto live electrical wires after an outage was reported in the area as the storm blew through.

Moon was reportedly hanging on the pole for about 40 minutes before crews could de-energize the electrical lines and safely get him down, neighbors said.

The incident remains under investigation.
