Man Gunned Down In Busy Traffic In Ontario

ONTARIO (CBSLA.com) — Police are looking for the shooter who gunned down a father in the middle of busy traffic in Ontario Tuesday.

Brian Holsey stopped to get lunch around 1:30 p.m. when he heard three shots fired in the intersection of G Street and Vineyard Avenue, he said.

Security video from a nearby business shows what is believed to be the suspect pulling up to the victim's car at a traffic stop and rolling down a window. Police said that is when shots rang out. The victim's car then crashed into a truck in front of him.

Two children, ages 1 and 4, were in the backseat of the victim's car, but they were not hurt.

"Terrified. I mean people were screaming. The kids were crying. And of course to lose their father, that's such a sad thing. I have children of my own. So I already know how it could be detrimental," Holsey said.

Ontario police say the victim was a 40-year-old man. They said they have no motive yet but are not ruling out road rage.

"It's just sad that people would take somebody else's life in front of their children," Holsey said.

If you saw anything or have any information about this crime, call the Ontario Police Department.
