LAPD Asks Public To Help Them Find Murder, Carjacking Suspect

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) —  The Los Angeles Police Department is asking the public's help in tracking down a murder suspect.

Artyom Gasparyan is wanted in connection with a series of violent crimes police said he committed over the past 26 days. Those crimes include robbery, carjacking, attempted murder, and murder, officials said.

Gasparyan's alleged crime spree began on December 6, in the northeast area of Los Angeles, with the most recent incident, a carjacking, occurring on January 1 in the city of Carson.

Gasparyan has allegedly committed these crimes in the cities of Los Angeles, Burbank, Arleta, West Hollywood, and Carson.

Police said the suspect is connected to a double shooting in Burbank on December 9 in which a resident and gardener were both wounded.

The LA Times has tied Gasparyan to two road-rage shootings in the Arleta area on Dec. 30 that left one man dead and two others wounded.

It's believed the suspect committed these crimes with an accomplice -- namely Daniel Ramirez who was taken into custody in Long Beach, after a standoff with police Friday. During that standoff Ramirez allegedly shot two individuals, stabbed another, and then shot himself.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call Robbery-Homicide Detectives at (213) 486-6890.
