Clerk Beaten In Violent Takeover Robbery At Liquor Store

MOSCOY (CBSLA.com) — Inside a Muscoy liquor store, a clerk is now speaking out about a violent attack caught Monday on security video that happened to his co-worker when group of men beat him and shoved a shotgun in his face.

He didn't want to show his face in fear of retaliation.

Four hooded, armed suspects showed up at MJ's market, where they swiped the cash drawer from the register and grabbed bottles of liquor off the shelves.

They went to the back office, where the co-worker was hiding, and started kicking through the door.

The terrified co-worker inside had his hands up, but the robbers still beat and threatened him with the weapon.

"When I was outside calling 911, we were hearing like big loud noises like things getting broken," the witness said.

The co-worker stepped out with his hands still up, but the video shows that one of robbers hit him again in the back of his head with a shotgun.

"I was really, really scared because he's my friend. He'd been knowing me since I was a little boy, you know?" the witness said.

The clerk was treated and released from a hospital.

Deputies say the robbers took off with $4,000.

The suspects were last seen traveling southbound on Macy Street in a dark, older-model ford Explorer. If you know anything about the robbery, please call the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
