Rosemead Barricade Ends With Hollywood Hills Shooting Suspect In Custody

ROSEMEAD (CBSLA.com) – A man suspected in the Hollywood Hills killing of 27-year-old man was shot by officers and taken into custody after being holed up in a Rosemead home Tuesday as police attempted to serve search and arrest warrants, authorities said.

Neighboring homes were evacuated as SWAT and crisis teams were called after the suspect barricaded himself about 3:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of Strang Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Police apprehended Tien Hua on Tuesday after a standoff of more than five hours. No officers were wounded in the shooting Tuesday night, and Hua's condition was unknown.

He was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Henry Estrada about 8:40 p.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of Sycamore Avenue, police said.
