Deadly Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes Portion Of 110 Freeway In South LA

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday amid rainy weather on the 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles.

According to California Highway Patrol officers, the crash occurred just after 4 a.m., located in the southbound lanes of the freeway at El Segundo Boulevard.

Upon their arrival, authorities located three to four vehicles involved in the collision.

Paramedics pronounced one person dead at the scene. The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

No other injuries were reported.

All lanes were closed, except the carpool lane, until around 7 a.m., according to CHP officers.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
