Oxnard Man Arrested In Kidnapping, Stabbing Of Ex-Girlfriend

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Police say a man is in custody Friday after kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and stabbing her several times.

Gustavo Diaz, 27, of Oxnard was booked Friday on suspicion of kidnapping and attempted murder and is being held on $530,000 bail, according to Ventura County jail records.

The 25-year-old victim, who had dated Diaz, said he kidnapped her from her workplace in Oxnard and drove her car to Fillmore, while threatening to kill her, Oxnard police officials said. In fear for her life, police say the victim tried to jump out of the vehicle while it was stopped at a red light and was stabbed multiple times.

The woman was treated at a local hospital for multiple stab wounds, and Diaz was later found by Oxnard police detectives.

Anyone with information about this crime can call Detective Scott Aaron at (805) 385-7662.
