Help Needed To ID Man Found Fatally Stabbed In Long Beach RV

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — The public's help was sought Tuesday in investigating the death of a 62-year-old man found dead in a recreational vehicle in a parking lot near the Los Alamitos Traffic Circle.

The body was discovered in an RV parked in the 1700 block of Ximeno Avenue at about 10:40 a.m. Sunday, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The man had suffered "a fatal injury to the torso," police said. He apparently had been stabbed, according to coroner's officials.

The man's name was being withheld pending family notification. Detectives believe he was a resident of Long Beach who had lived in the city a short time.

The preliminary investigation determined the RV had been parked in that location between late Friday night and early Saturday morning.

No arrests were reported and a motive for the killing was unknown.

Anyone with information about the man's death was urged to contact homicide detectives Mark Bigel Guarino or Shea Robertson at (562) 570-7244.
