Southland Bundles Up Amid Cold Snap

THOUSAND OAKS (CBSLA.com) — As temperatures were expected to reach freezing in some areas of the Southland on Monday night, many residents who were shopping for Christmas trees said they welcome the cold snap.

At a Christmas tree farm in Thousand Oaks -- where temperatures were expected to fall to 38 degrees overnight -- customers and workers said the cold weather was helping to get them into the Holiday spirit.

"We cut trees down here every year," one customer said. "When it's cold out, it's even more fun."

The owner of the tree farm said the cold weather could even be helping sales.

"People are more in the Christmas spirit, because it's more like winter now," she said.
