USC Defeats UCLA To Win Pac-12 South; Will Play Stanford For Conference Title

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The winner of the game would be crowned the Pac 12 South champion and earn a spot in the Pac 12 title game against the Stanford Cardinal.

The Trojans started the scoring off in the 1st quarter with a field goal, but the Bruins answered with a touchdown run from Paul Perkins, giving them a 7-3 lead after the 1st quarter.

USC QB Cody Kessler capped off a 10 play, 85 yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run, before USC would kick a field goal to make the score 14-13.

The real change in momentum came in the 2nd quarter when USC's Adoree Jackson returned a punt for a 42-yard touchdown, giving the Trojans a 20-14 lead at the half.

Paul Perkins would run in another touchdown in the 3rd quarter, but USC would answer with back-to-back scores on a sack fumble recovery for a touchdown, followed by a 20-yard TD pass from Cody Kessler to Darreus Rogers, giving the Trojans a 33-21 lead.

The Trojans would seal the game off with an 11-play, 68 yard drive that ended in a Cody Kessler passing TD to Taylor McNamara.

The lead ballooned to 40-21, and UCLA QB Josh Rosen proceeded to throw his 2nd INT of the game with 5:38 to go in the game.

Freshman cornerback Iman Marshall picked off Rosen in the 4th for the second time in the game.

Rosen's streak of 246 completed passes without an interception came to an end on Saturday.
