Man Dead, Another Injured, After Love Triangle Ends In Fullerton Shooting

FULLERTON (CBSLA.com) — Police say a man involved in a love triangle remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition Thursday with multiple gunshot wounds.

Fullerton police officers on patrol heard gunshots at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Harbor Boulevard and Ash Avenue, Fullerton police Sgt. Kathryn Hamel said. When they responded, one of the men turned the gun on himself.

Both men were taken to an area hospital, where one was pronounced dead, Hamel said. Both men were in their late 30s or early 40s, she said.

The man who died of the self-inflicted gunshot wound was estranged from a woman, who was at the scene of the shooting, Hamel said. The woman was not injured and was being questioned by police.

A parking control officer for the city witnessed the shooting, Hamel said.
