Arrest Made In Armed Heist At Century City Rolex Store

CENTURY CITY (CBSLA.com) — Police announced Wednesday an arrest in the armed robbery of a Rolex store at the Westfield Century City mall in August.

The heist happened at about noon on Aug. 24 at the luxury watch store in the 10000 block of Santa Monica Boulevard.

Dominic Calloway, 26, was arrested Nov. 11 at his South Los Angeles home, and was being held without bail, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Nov. 25.

Calloway and another man, both armed with assault-type weapons and wearing ski masks, forced their way into the store as a security guard tried to close the door, police said.

"The first suspect discharged a round into the store, striking a display wall of glass," LAPD officials said in a statement. "Both suspects directed everyone to lay on the floor. The second suspect, later identified as Calloway, ran directly to a display case and took several designer, high value watches."

The suspects ran down the escalator and fled in a stolen car that was driven by a third suspect. The car was later found a half block away.

The other gunman, who was described as a black man, between 30 and 40 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds, remains at large. There was no description of the getaway driver.

Anyone with information on the case can call detectives at (310) 444-1580 or (877) LAPD-247 (5273-247).
