Rock And Roll Fantasy Camp Unleashes Inner Rock Star In Many

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A pro on the guitar, it's almost hard to believe Ed Oates is the retired co-founder of Oracle.

"It's an avocation and a love and a passion. And Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp just gives it to me," said Oates.

He and the rest of the band of business professionals took part in the four-day Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp in North Hollywood, where campers got the opportunity to work with celebrity counselors, including Danny Seraphine, the original drummer for rock group "Chicago."

"I want to send them home better musicians, but at the same time, I want them to have a great time," said Seraphine.

Throughout the camp, counselors rehearsed with the bands several times, culminating in a live performance at the legendary Whiskey a Go Go in West Hollywood.

Alan White, iconic drummer for the band "Yes", says campers come from all levels and backgrounds.

"The aim is to get your band playing well and perform a short set on stage," White said.

Guest stars included classic-rock legends David Crosby and Ginger Baker. Campers said it was fun to get a taste of the Rock 'n' Roll life.

"It's like being backstage and being part of a rock band for a few days and it's just incredible," Jennifer Delvillar said.

Packages for the camp range from $800 to $9,000. For more information, click here.
