Detectives: Winnetka Man Charged With Rape May Have Attacked Other Women

VALENCIA (CBSLA.com) — A man suspected in the vicious sexual assault of a woman in Valencia has been charged with raped, and investigators say he may have attacked other women.

Etienne Rosas, 24, of Winnetka, was identified and arrested earlier this week in Santa Clarita on suspicion of attacking a woman in the early hours of Oct. 25, Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said Friday.

Authorities say a 25-year-old woman was standing beside her car, which was parked outside a Denny's restaurant in Valencia, at about 4 a.m. on Oct. 25 when the suspect approached her and suddenly forced her into her car. Sheriff's officials say Rosas viciously attacked the woman, who was able to stop the attack when she hit the horn on her car.

The suspect fled on foot.

Rosas, who is being held on $4 million, was charged Thursday with four felony counts of kidnapping, forcible rape and unlawful sexual penetration.

If convicted, Rosas faces a sentence of 75 years to life in prison.

Special Victims Bureau detectives say Rosas may have committed other sexual assaults.

Anyone with information about this crime or Rosas can call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Special Victims Bureau at (877) 710-LASD (5273).
