Austin Rivers Fined After Throwing Seat Cushion Into Stands

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Clippers guard Austin Rivers is being investigated by the NBA after he allegedly threw a seat cushion into the stands during a game in Sacramento on Wednesday.

Rivers flung the seat cushion into the stands in the 4th quarter of the game between the Kings and Clippers at Sleep Train Arena, ultimately hitting a spectator.

The fan apparently experienced discomfort in her eyes after being hit by the seat cushion.

USA Today's Sam Amick reported that Rivers is likely to face discipline from the team or the NBA, but that has not been decided upon yet.

If Rivers does face a punishment, veteran point guard Pablo Prigioni should see some minutes backing up starting PG Chris Paul.

The NBA announced that it fined Rivers $25,000 for the incident.
