Man Who Allegedly Led Police On 3-Hour Chase Over 10 Freeways Arrested

PASADENA  (AP) — A man who allegedly led authorities a 240-mile chase through Los Angeles County has been arrested and charged with evading police, making criminal threats and vandalism.

Prosecutors say 48-year-old Karnik Kendirian was arrested at his Altadena home on Monday — a day after he led Pasadena police and the California Highway Patrol on a nearly three-hour chase at speeds of up to 100 mph.

Authorities finally called off the chase for safety reasons and because they knew the driver's identity.

Police say they were trying to stop Kendirian because he was suspected of vandalizing a neighbor's property with graffiti, threatening the neighbor for reporting him and damaging two cars on Saturday.

He remains jailed and now faces more than three years in prison if convicted.
