PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — The 2016 Rose Queen will be chosen Thursday from among seven teenage members of the Royal Court in Pasadena.

The announcement will be made during an event held at the Pasadena Convention Center.

On Oct. 5, members of the Tournament of Roses Royal Court -- Bryce Marie Bakewell, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy; Donaly Elizabeth Marquez, Blair High School; Natalie Breanne Hernandez-Barber, Alverno High School; Rachelle Chacal Renee Liu, San Marino High School; Regina Marche Pullens, Maranatha High School; Sarah Sumiko Shaklan, La Canada High School; and Erika Karen Winter, Flintridge Preparatory School -- were selected from more than 900 applicants.

Each of the 17-year-old girls were chosen based on criteria including poise, speaking ability, academic achievement and community and school involvement.

The queen and her Royal Court will attend nearly 100 community and media functions in the weeks leading up to the 127th Rose Parade and the 102nd Rose Bowl.

The theme for this year is "Find Your Adventure."
