Stolen Dog Attempted To Be Sold On Craigslist Reunited With Owners

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — When an ad went up on Craigslist for a $2500 English bulldog, it described the animal as goofy, fun, well-behaved and sleepy.

One thing the ad forgot to mention was that the dog was stolen from San Bernandino.

The dog's name is Gunny, and he is a six-year-old bull dog who went missing earlier in the week.

A friend of the family who owns the dog saw several ads online. and with the help of deputies, the friend's met up with the couple selling the dog posing as prospective buyers.

Once it was confirmed that the bull dog was in fact Gunny, the couple attempting to sell him was arrested for felony possession of stolen property.

The owner, who wants to remain anonymous, said that Gunny is doing just fine after the ordeal and that she is just happy to have her dog home.

"He's a complete sweetheart. He's an amazing dog and acts like one of our kids. He is on of ours kids," the owner added.

The suspected dog nappers live near Gunny's home, who is now being kept on a tight leash so no one can get their paws on him again.
