Arrest Made Following Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash In Ontario

ONTARIO (CBSLA.com) —  Police in Ontario announced the arrest Sunday of a driver who was wanted in a fatal hit-and-run accident that left a 24-year-old pedestrian dead.

The vehicle vs. pedestrian accident occurred approximately 1:35 a.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of South Laurel Avenue, authorities said.

Witnesses said a female driver with two passengers (a male and a female) were driving up and down South Laurel near the home of one of their ex-boyfriends. Witnesses told police the car was blaring loud music and the car's occupants were throwing trash onto the ex's yard.

Darryl Sevecino, who was not the ex or known to anyone in the vehicle, went to confront the driver for making noise when witnesses said she did a u-turn and hit him.

The alleged driver was later identified as 20-year-old Tanya Quintero of Pomona. Police said she struck Sevecino with her gray Honda Civic before fleeing.

Officials said the vehicle was found abandoned not far from the accident site.

Sevecino was declared dead at the scene.

Quintero was arrested for vehicular manslaughter and ht-and-run resulting in death. She was booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Detective Jeff Wentz at (909) 395-2715.
