Woman Charged With Attempted Murder After Allegedly Driving Into 2 Men Intentionally

WEST COVINA (CBSLA.com)  — Authorities said a woman has been charged with attempted murder after she allegedly drove her vehicle into two men who were fighting.

Officials said just before noon on Sunday, they received a call about a traffic accident with unknown injuries on Serenade Avenue, near Lucille Avenue.

During a fight between two men, one of the men reportedly returned to his vehicle to grab a handgun which was later determined to be a replica. A female driving a vehicle intentionally tried to strike the  man her friend had been fighting with,  but ending up pinning both men under the vehicle.

Neighbors nearby lifted the vehicle off of the victims and the female driver fled the scene with one of the males who was less seriously injured.

Responding officers spotted the involved vehicle fleeing the scene. The female driver and the injured male were detained.

The male passenger found in the vehicle was airlifted by helicopter to Los Angeles County- USC Medical Center for treatment. His condition is unknown.

The female driver was arrested and is at the West Covina Jail where she has been booked on attempted murder charges.

The other male was transported to Los Angeles County- USC Medical Center for medical treatment by ambulance. He is believed to be in critical condition.

Loved ones of the man in critical condition told CBS2's Rebecca Ferriter that he was expected to be okay.
