Explosion Occurs At Propane Facility In Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — An explosion occurred on Wednesday at a propane facility in Huntington Beach.

Shortly before 5:30 a.m., firefighters were sent to a business located in the 18900 block of Gothard Street and Garfield Avenue for report of a propane explosion, according to the Huntington Beach Fire Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities learned a flash fire had occurred in the area.

Paramedics transported a woman to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the explosion. An update on her condition was not immediately available.

Officials said the victim was one of two employees working the night sift at the facility.

No other injuries were reported.
