Photographer, Children's Tumbling Teacher Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Teen Girl, Child Pornography

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A photographer and a children's tumbling class teacher is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a teenage girl and possession of child pornography.

Christopher A. Brown, 42, of Orange was being held on $500,000 bail, according to jail records. He was arrested at a Newport Beach shopping center and booked Friday on suspicion of making and possessing child pornography, digital penetration and oral copulation and failure to register as a sex offender, Orange County sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock said.

Investigators suspect there may be more victims as Brown also teaches private tumbling lessons for children and has traveled the country working as a freelance photographer, Hallock said.

Hundreds of child porn photos and videos were seized when investigators executed a search warrant at a hotel in Irvine where Brown had been staying, he said. Brown's cell phone and GoPro camera were also seized.

Detectives suspect Brown targets teenage girls, Hallock said.

Brown has a conviction in 2005 in Virginia for possession of child pornography, and failed to register as a sex offender in California when he moved into the state several years ago, Hallock said.

Anyone aware of adolescents Brown may have victimized can call the sheriff's department at (714) 647-7418.
