Deputies Investigate Willowbrook Homicide

WILLOWBROOK (CBSLA.com) Los Angeles County Sheriff's homicide detectives on Saturday are investigating a deadly shooting in the Willowbrook area of South Los Angeles.

Detectives responded to a call of a shooting on the 12300 block of Wilmington Avenue at about 01:40 a.m. Saturday.  Upon their arrival, they discovered a 38-year-old victim was lying on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  Los Angeles County Fire personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Witnesses said that the victim and a suspect got into an argument at Dee's Liquor, at 124th Street and Wilmington Avenue.  They left the liquor store together and walked south on Wilmington Avenue. As they walked, the suspect shot the victim numerous times with a handgun.  The suspect then got into a gray vehicle and drove away, witnesses said.

Investigators did not know what the argument was over. The murder weapon and suspect are still outstanding at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
