Dodgers Broadcaster Vin Scully Sets Guinness World Record
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully was officially authenticated by Guinness World Records as the longest-serving sports broadcaster for any team.
Scully has been behind the microphone for Dodgers games for 66 years. He began working for the team in 1950, when the team was in still Brooklyn.

On the same day that the Dodgers were hosting Vin Scully Bobblehead Night at the Stadium, Scully was awarded with a plaque from Guinness World Records marking him as the longest-tenured sports broadcaster for a single team.
This comes less than a month after Scully announced he would return to the Dodgers for a record 67th season.
Scully already holds the Guinness World Records title for the youngest broadcaster to broadcast a World Series game.
He was 25 on Oct. 1, 1952, when he called Game 1 of the 1952 World Series, a game the Dodgers won, 4-2, at Brooklyn's Ebbets Field.
"Vin's career has been officially amazing, and we are glad to welcome him into the Guinness World Records family," said Guinness World Records' adjudicator Alex Angert.
