Lancaster Man Allegedly Murders Wife In Her Driveway Before Turning Gun On Himself

LANCASTER (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities said a Lancaster man murdered his estranged wife and then turned the gun on himself Thursday morning.

LA County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau detectives responded to the 3200 block of West Avenue J-10 in Lancaster at approximately 6:50 a.m.

When detectives arrived, they learned that Lancaster Sheriff's Station deputies had already responded to the location about a assault in progress.

Officials said they discovered the bodies of an adult Latino and Latina both lying in the driveway with apparent gunshot wounds.

A witness  told detectives the male approached the female in the driveway and the couple began arguing. During the argument, the male pointed a gun at the female and shot in her direction several times, striking her. He then turned the gun on himself.

A weapon was recovered at the scene, authorities said.

The woman,  48, was pronounced dead at the scene. She resided at the location.

The male, 58, was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead.

The investigation is still ongoing.
