GoFundMe Account Established To Help Family Of Special Needs Teen Who Died On School Bus

WHITTIER (CBSLA.com) —  A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family of a special needs student found dead on a school bus in Whittier Friday.

The coroner identified the victim as 19-year-old Hun-Joon Lee, AKA Paul Lee.

The Whittier School District did not say if Lee attended classes on Friday but his family believes he was left on the bus for nine hours in sweltering heat.

His older sister Eiden wrote, "My family is completely torn apart and heartbroken, knowing what he had felt during those painful hours. Inside the bus was about 120-130 degrees and Paul was trapped in there for almost nine hours without a single drop of water. We are hit so hard with this sudden tragedy."

She added, "All donations will go directly to my parents to help defray the costs of funeral expenses. Please keep Paul and our family in your prayers."

The family was trying to raise $10,000 and surpassed that goal in one day with more than 250 donors.
