Ortiz Becomes 4th MLB Player With 500 HR & 3 World Series Titles

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — With two home runs on Saturday, Red Sox DH David Ortiz became the 27th player in MLB history to reach 500 career home runs.

Ortiz hit both home runs off Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Matt Moore as the Red Sox went on to win the game, 10-4.

"Big Papi" is also just the fourth player in MLB history to hit 500 career home runs AND win 3 world series championships.

He joins Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, and Reggie Jackson as the only players to accomplish this impressive feat.
