Man Suspected Of Stabbing 3 Sons To Death In South LA Booked By Police

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police on Saturday said a 33-year-old man was booked on suspicion of murder in the stabbing death of his three sons, who were found dead inside an SUV parked in South Los Angeles.

Luis Fuentes was booked at 2:05 p.m. Friday at the Los Angeles Police Department's Newton Station and was being held on $3 million bail, the LAPD said.

Coroner's officials earlier this week identified the victims as Alexander Fuentes, 8, Juan Fuentes, 9, and Luis Fuentes, 10.

The boys' bodies were found around 7 a.m. Wednesday when officers were called to the 300 block of East 32nd Street in response to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. The boys were found in the vehicle's bloody back seat. Fuentes was in the front, covered in blood and suffering from stab wounds. Police believe he stabbed himself.

Los Angeles child welfare authorities are investigating any and all past contact workers may have had with a father accused of stabbing his three sons to death.

A spokesman  from the LA County Department of Children and Family Services told the Associated Pres that the agency is reviewing any past involvement the family may have had with the agency.
