Celebs Team Up In 'Think It Up' To Energize America About Power of Learning

SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) – The people, who brought you 'Stand Up To Cancer,' are bringing you 'Think It Up,' which is a crowd-funding project to inspire public school students in grades 7-12 to pursue their passions through student-powered, teacher-led learning projects.

Among the celebrities, who are teaming up for this good cause, are 'The Talk' and 'Big Brother' Host Julie Chen, actor Eric Stonestreet of "Modern Family," actor Terry Crews and singer/songwriter will.i.am.

The telecast kicks off in the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport Friday night. You can catch it live at 8 p.m. on CBS2.

The lineup includes Justin Bieber, Kacey Musgraves, Kristen Bell, Scarlett Johansson, Matthew McConaughey, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jeremy Renner.

"My parents taught us at a very young age; if you don't have a proper education, you don't have anything in this world," Chen said. "So don't come back with anything less than an A+," She joked.

"Any time you can lend your name and face and beautiful sunglasses to kids and inspire them to think a little different and be passionate in school, it's a good cause," Stonestreet said.

"If you can't donate today, donate time, donate your heart," said will.i.am.

"If we invest in our children, we're investing in our future as a whole, as a nation in this world," Chen said.

To donate cash and/or volunteer, go to  'Think It Up.' which was organized by the Entertainment Industry Foundation.
