Arrests Made After End Of Pursuit, Standoff In Westchester Area
WESTCHESTER (CBSLA.com) — Two suspected car thieves were arrested in Westchester on Monday after a brief police chase and standoff, authorities said.
The pair is accused of stealing vehicle from a Hertz Rent A Car facility, but didn't get too far. According to police, they drove over a spike strip while leaving the facility.
Following the chase, the man and woman fled the SUV on foot.
"Two suspects ran from that vehicle. One of them was taken into custody inside that gas station. The second suspect made his way into a business," reported Sky 9's Stu Mundel.
According to police, the male suspect entered an office building, prompting authorities to establish a perimeter.
Officers led the male suspect out in handcuffs. He was wearing only a T-shirt, socks, and underwear.
