Two Armed Men Wanted In Connection With Shooting At Chino Skating Rink

CHINO (CBSLA.com) — Police on Thursday searched for two men wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred outside a skating rink in Chino.

Around 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 31, officers were sent to the 12300 block of Central Avenue for reports of multiple shots fired, according to the Chino Police Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds at Skate Express.

Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital. She remains listed in critical condition at this time.

Witnesses said two suspects approached the woman and fired multiple rounds before fleeing from the scene in an SUV type of vehicle, heading towards Columbus Street.

During a preliminary investigation, officers served two search warrants in Compton, Inglewood and Long Beach on Wednesday afternoon.

Leonard Cordell Jennings, 56, of Compton, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy and attempted murder as a result of the investigation. He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center.

According to detectives, Cordell Ray Jennings and Diondre Lee Mure have been identified as the two suspects who remain at large.

Jennings was described as a 29-year-old man who stands around 5-foot-5 tall and weighs 155 pounds.

Mure is a 27-year-old man who stands about 6-feet-tall and weighs 160 pounds.

Both men are considered to be armed and dangerous. They have been known to frequent the L.A. and Long Beach areas, authorities explained.

The investigation is ongoing.
