Police Impersonator Pulls Over Woman, Assaults Her In Duarte

DUARTE (CBSLA.com) — Detectives asked for the public's help Tuesday for information about a man who pulled over a woman and assaulted her while impersonating a peace officer.

Authorities say a woman was pulled over by an unmarked sedan with flashing red and blue lights Saturday at about 10:50 p.m. in the 1400 block of Buena Vista Street in Duarte.

The woman reported being contacted by a man dressed similarly to police officers wearing a green polo-style shirt and that he threatened to arrest her. Then, without provocation, the man physically assaulted her, detectives said.

The impersonator was last seen driving east on Central Avenue.

The driver sustained a minor injury.

The impersonator was described as a white man between 40 and 50 years old, 6 feet tall, 220 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. The vehicle was a light-colored, late model full-size 4-door sedan with tinted windows.

Anyone with information about this crime can contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Temple Sheriff's Station at (626) 285-7171.
