1 Dead, 1 Wounded In Compton Shootings

COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — One male died and another was hospitalized Friday after shootings in Compton, authorities said.

The shootings were reported about 5:20 p.m. in the 16100 block of South Essey Avenue in Compton, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

Both were taken to a hospital, where one died and the other underwent treatment, the department said.

The ages of the shooting victims were unclear, though at least one was reportedly an adult.
