LAPD Asks For Public's Help In Identifying Suspect In Koreatown Road Rage Beating
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The LAPD is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in a road rage fight that left one man with serious head injuries.
On May 26, at around 7:30 pm., police said the suspect and the victim came to blows over a traffic dispute at 4th Street and Ardmore Avenue in Koreatown.
During the fight, the suspect -- intercepting a kick from the victim -- picked the victim up and slammed him onto the concrete sidewalk, causing his head to hit the ground.
The suspect continued to slam the victim's head onto the concrete several times and then walked to his car and drove away from the scene, westbound on 4th Street towards Kingsley Drive.
The victim was knocked unconscious and suffered a skull fracture and internal bleeding. He required surgery and is now receiving physical therapy. He said he cannot recall the incident.
The suspect is believed to be an Asian man, possibly of Korean descent, in his mid-to-late 30s, with black hair. He is approximately 5 feet and 8 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He is seen on a video of the incident released by police wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and a black baseball cap. His vehicle is described as an off-white older-model Volvo with a non-functioning left brake light.
