Friends Concerned About Justin Bieber-Lookalike After He Disappears

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) —   Tobias Strebel -- a Justin Bieber lookalike -- has disappeared prompting the man's friends to call police.

Strebel, 35, has undergone $100,000 in surgery to appear like the 21-year-old Bieber.

LAPD officers said Sunday they do not consider the matter to be a critical missing case.

Friends say Strebel was last seen on Tuesday in the 1700 block of Orange Grove Avenue, near West Hollywood, according to Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department.

He was last seen driving a gray 2009 Toyota Camry, according to a televised report.

One of Strebel's friends says he's worried that he is gone.

"This is very unusual for him to be missing ... No note or anything," friend Mel Espinoza told reporters.

Strebel had appeared on the E! TV show about plastic surgery, "Botched," When Strebel appeared on that show he said he spent more than $100,000 to look like Bieber.

On a Facebook page that could not be verified to belong to Strebel, a person posted a side-by-side comparison photo of a shirtless Bieber to a man of about 35 sometime around 4 p.m. Saturday. There was also a hashtag #Imonmyway.

Prior to that post, Strebel hadn't posted since April 6.

Anyone with information about Strebel's whereabouts should call the LAPD Hollywood Station at (213) 972-2976.
