Water Main Break Floods Intersection In Koreatown

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews worked to repair a six-inch cast iron pipe that ruptured in Koreatown on Friday.

Just after 2 a.m., crews were sent to the intersection of 5th and Berendo streets, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The rupture subsequently caused flooding in some areas.

Crews have shut off water and are assessing street damage.

At this time, 20 customers have been affected in the area.

Authorities have not released an estimate for water restoration.
