Teen Charged With Extorting 21 Young Girls For Nude Photos

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 19-year-old man was charged Friday with more than 150 counts of child pornography for allegedly extorting young girls into sending him naked photos, Los Angeles County District Attorney's officials said.

Cesar Mauricio Estrada-Davila, of Rosemead, faces 109 felony and 42 misdemeanor counts of child pornography, contact with a minor for sexual offense, extortion and lewd acts upon a child, with a special allegation that there were multiple victims, prosecutors said.

Estrada is scheduled to be arraigned Friday and prosecutors say they will ask for bail to be set at $3.08 million.

Deputy District Attorney Jon Hatami said Estrada reached out at least 21 girls, between the ages of 12 and 17, befriending them on a social networking website between January and February. He allegedly told the girls he was a modeling agent who could make them famous online and asked the girls to send him pictures in their underwear.

After Estrada received the images, he then told the girls he would send the photos to their friends and family if they did not send nude pictures, Hatami said.

One of the girls finally told her parents what was happening, and they called police.

Authorities say they investigated Estrada's activities for several months before charging him.
