OC Barber Arrested For Alleged Lewd Acts While Washing 14-Year-Old Boy's Hair
SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A Santa Ana barber faced molestation charges Friday after allegedly committed lewd acts with a 14-year-old boy while washing his hair.
Ruben Olguin, 51, was arrested Aug. 14 at the Salon De Belleza Nuevo Guadalajara located at 118 E. 4th St., Santa Ana police said.
Police say the arrest stems from an incident in July when the victim and his mother went to Olguin, their usual barber, for a haircut. They had been to Olguin several times and trusted him, according to police.
On that particular visit, police say Olguin took the victim to a private location in the rear of the salon to wash and shampoo the child's hair.
It was there that Olguin allegedly molested the victim while the mother waited in the front of the store, according to police.
Olguin is currently being held at the Orange County Jail on $100,000 bail.
Due to Olguin's access to children and the public, police are asking for the public's help in identifying any additional victims or "witnesses who may have observed Olguin act inappropriately."
