$50K Reward Offered For Information In Man's Shooting Death

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A $50,000 reward was offered Monday for information in the murder of a Los Angeles man who was shot to death in front of his house, police said.

Juan Flores, 41, was parking his car in front of his house in the 1400 block of 21st Street at about 2:35 a.m. on April 19 when he was confronted by an unknown suspect and shot, Los Angeles police said.

Flores, a father of six children who worked as a forklift driver, was returning home from dinner and karaoke with his wife. The couple had been together for 14 years.

"He was a really, really nice husband," Flores' widow, Maria Villanueva, said tearfully. "He was a nice father."

Flores had dropped his wife off so she could go inside while he parked the car. She heard the gunshots from inside their home.

"This was a senseless act. Mr. Flores was just coming home from a night out, having dinner with his wife, and he gets shot and killed in front of his residence," LAPD Officer Deen Alvarez said.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crime or has information can contact detectives Torres or Alcaraz at (323) 846-6556.
