19-Year-Old Masseur Charged With Raping Woman, 72, In Her Apartment

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A 19-year-old masseur was charged Tuesday to sexually assaulting a woman in her 70s in her Huntington Beach apartment.

Ahkail Demyers, 19, of Long Beach, is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday.

Demyers was charged with a felony count each of forcible rape, assault with the intent to commit a sexual offense during the commission of a first-degree burglary, sexual penetration by force, and elder abuse, with sentencing enhancement allegations for aggravated kidnapping and commission of forcible rape and sexual penetration by force during the commission of a burglary.

Police say Demyers, who works as a masseur, was visiting a family member at a senior living apartment complex in Huntington Beach Sunday at about 7:50 p.m. when he approached the woman, saying he was a masseur and offered to give her a therapeutic massage.

Once inside the apartment, Demyers forced the woman into her bedroom and forcibly sexually assaulted her, police said.

Demyers, who is being held on $1 million bail, faces a maximum sentence of 61 years to life in state prison if convicted as charged, prosecutors said.
