Officials said the 3-foot-long reptile slithered its way to the top of the stairs of the station around 4 p.m. on July 31.
It was then discovered in the parking lot in front of a curb marked "visitors."
Animal control officers were called to the scene to capture and kill the rattlesnake.
Deputies explained it appears the reptile may have come from nearby wetlands.
The snake had enough venom to take out several large adults, according to animal control officers.
No injuries were reported.
