Man Gets 20 Years, 6 Months In Prison For 'Upskirt' Photos

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 31-year-old man has been ordered to serve 20 years and six months in state prison for secretly taking pictures under the skirts of hundreds of women, Los Angeles County District Attorney's officials said.

Mylyn Coriche Johnson, aka Lamar Quinn, was sentenced to a 5-year prison sentence Friday that will be added to a previous sentence of 15 years and six months. He was found guilty on July 27 of five misdemeanor counts of video or photograph of an identifiable person in undergarments.

Prosecutors say Johnson shot up-skirt photos with his phone of several unsuspecting victims at various stores in the Lancaster area between August 2012 and Mrch 2013. On Feb. 20, 2013, he falsely claimed he was a security guard at a Lancaster K-Mart and patted a woman down, claiming to look for stolen merchandise, Deputy District Attorney Theodore Swanson said.

Johnson was arrested at a Target store on March 16, 2013 when a woman told security that he was following her and her sister throughout the store.

In this case, Johnson was originally convicted on Sept. 17, 2013 of a felony count of sexual battery by fraud and false imprisonment by violence and 12 misdemeanor counts of video or photograph of person in undergarment. After a court of appeals reversed five of the misdemeanor count convictions, Johnson was retried and again found guilty by a jury.
