Flight Returns To LAX After Woman Threatens Another Woman Over Bag Bump

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Delta Airlines flight returned to Los Angeles Tuesday morning and a female passenger was removed after verbally threatening another woman during an argument, police said.

"During Delta's 1577's flight from Los Angeles to New Orleans, a female passenger bumped another woman on board with her bag," Airport Police Officer Rob Pedregon said. "An argument ensued and one of the women threatened the other woman."

Pedregon said the flight was turned around and came back to LAX.

"Our officers went on board and escorted the woman who made the threat off the flight," he said.

"The woman who was threatened declined to press charges, so the woman who made the threat was released," Pedregon said. "She rebooked her trip on a later flight."

Pedregon said the flight returned to LAX about 9:20 a.m. and was back in the air by 9:30 a.m.

No other action will be taken, he said.
