Suspect Wounded In Officer-Involved Shooting
SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities said a suspect was wounded Sunday evening during an officer-involved shooting in Santa Ana.
The suspect is not believed to have life-threatening injuries.
No deputies were injured in the incident, authorities said.
The shooting occurred just after 6 p.m. in the 800 block of Townsend Street, according to Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
"Officers came into contact with an individual with a weapon, there was an officer-involved shooting (and) the suspect was struck," Bertagna said.
The suspect -- whose name and age were not revealed -- is in stable condition after being transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange.
A weapon was recovered at the scene. Bertagna did not say if it was a gun.
