3 At-Large Robbery Suspects Tied To Fire At Burbank Mini Market

BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — Police in Burbank are searching for three men they say robbed a mini market at gunpoint.

Officers were called around 9 p.m. to a commercial fire when they arrived to find the store had also been robbed, according to the Burbank Police Department.

It happened at 1516 North San Fernando Road, near Scott Road, on the lower level of a two-story strip mall.

The store owner told police one of the suspects had a handgun.

It's unclear how much money or goods were taken during the robbery.

"It's a frightening experience," witness Aren Khanbabaei told CBS2/KCAL9's Erica Nochlin. "And I don't know what the liquor store is going to go through from having a robbery and a fire experience. It's heartbreaking."

The store owner was being treated for minor injuries.

"I was just hoping that everybody was alright, and I really wanted them to catch whoever would do such a thing to an innocent man," said Hussein Maaz, who's a friend of the store owner.

The store owner's daughter says the family is rattled by the incident, but that her father is doing OK.

Burbank Police Department and the Burbank Fire Department are investigating this incident.
