Shooting Suspect Barricaded In Buena Park Home, Residents Evacuated

BUENA PARK (CBSLA.com) — Police Tuesday night surrounded a house in Buena Park where they say a shooting suspect barricaded himself inside.

Officers were called to the 6600 block of Kingman Avenue just after 7:30 p.m.

Investigators say a shooting occurred at the intersection of Kingman and 10th Street, and a male victim at the scene was able to tell officers the name and location of the suspect, who was barricaded inside a home.

SWAT teams from at least three agencies were called to the scene.

Officers have evacuated residents for one city block.

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police have not confirmed the identity of the suspect.

Neighbors who did not wish to speak on camera told CBS2/KCAL9 the suspect is a meth addict who has guns, powerful flood lights, a guard dog and security cameras surrounding the home.

Further information was not immediately available.
