1 Killed, 4 Others Injured In 2-Car Crash Into Gardena Donut King

GARDENA (CBSLA.com) — A car slammed into a Donut King shop in Gardena Tuesday night, killing one person and injuring four others.

A two-car collision was reported at Donut King 2 at Western and Marine avenues shortly after 7 p.m.

Gardena police say both vehicles entered the intersection at the same time, resulting in one of the cars crashing into the structure.

Five people were taken to hospitals, four in minor and one in critical condition, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesperson.

One of the victims, a 30-year-old Hispanic female from Huntington Park, died as a result of her injuries, authorities said late Tuesday.

Police say the woman was one of three people traveling in one of the vehicles.

The shop was open at the time of the crash. However, no pedestrians and no customers inside the shop were reported injured.
