Homicide Detectives Investigating Shooting In Santa Ana That Left Man, 21, Critical

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting in Santa Ana that left a 21-year-old in critical condition Sunday.

Officers were dispatched shortly after 2 a.m. to the area of 2300 West Harvard after a female caller advised her boyfriend had been shot, according to Santa Ana police.

Officers arrived to find the male victim seated in a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, police said.

The man was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene based on his injuries and circumstances surrounding the investigation, according to police.

A preliminary investigation revealed two suspects in a white Honda Civic two-door fired at the victim and his girlfriend as they were traveling in the victim's vehicle, police said.

The suspect vehicle fled the area and had not been located.
