Lancaster Organizations Call For Justice In Young Man's Murder

LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — Groups in Lancaster are calling for authorities to find the person who gunned down a young man over an injured dog.

Community leaders came together Friday to talk about the problem of black-on-black crime and to bring attention to the fatal shooting of a young man in the area.

Michael Davis was killed last week after he asked the man who ran over his dog to help pay for the care.

The man took off from the scene.

On Friday, Davis' mother said her grandson now will have to grow up without a father: "My son didn't deserve this. My son wasn't a gang-banger. He was no thug. He wasn't on the street. Anybody could tell you all he did was love dirtbikes, he loved kids and he loved people. And for him to be gunned down like this is wrong."

Davis was shot six times.
