LA Kings Sign Goalie Jhonas Enroth To Back Up Jonathan Quick

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Goalie Jhonas Enroth has signed with the Los Angeles Kings, agreeing to a one-year, $1.25 million deal to back up Jonathan Quick.

The Kings confirmed the deal Wednesday with the unrestricted free agent.

Enroth finished last season with the Dallas Stars after spending 6 1/2 years in the system of the Buffalo Sabres, who drafted him in 2006. He made the NHL's all-rookie team in 2012 and eventually became Ryan Miller's backup.

Enroth played a career-high 50 games last season between Buffalo and Dallas, which acquired him in February.

He also won a gold medal for Sweden at the 2013 world championships and a silver medal from the Sochi Olympics.

The Kings needed a veteran goalie after trading Martin Jones to Boston last week in a deal for Milan Lucic.
